Halal Greece attended the first AHAC Board Meeting on 20-22 January 2020, hosted by the Halal Quality Certification Agency (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in Bosnia. Halal Greece was represented by its president Mr. Abdulhalim DEDE and certification coordinator Mr. Davoud DEDE

The decision of the Council of State regarding the Halal and Koscher process, the slaughter of animals for Muslims and Jews in our country, brings incalculable for the time being, losses and consequences in many sectors. The CoC deemed illegal the joint decision of the Minister of Rural Development and Food and the Deputy Minister of Development (JM 951/44337 / 21.4.2017), which determined the necessary additional measures for the implementation of Regulation (EC) 1099/2009, in relation to the slaughter of animals in slaughterhouses in the context religious types (StE 1751/2021).

As GIMDES and WHC, we organize various celebrations and events every year for 17 Ramadan World Halal Day, the day the first halal verse is revealed. Many HCBs, brothers and sisters all over the world unite and also celebrate this beautiful day. Here are some of them: ISWA Halal Certification Department (USA) ISWA Halal is organizing a webinar to celebrate 17 Ramadan World Halal Day and welcome the celebration messages of all the brothers and sisters.

Since September last year, thousands of food products have been recalled due to contamination with the carcinogenic and banned pollutant ethylene oxide, especially in France. However foodwatch raised the alert that not all EU Member States were taking the action needed. After weeks of discussions, the European Commission heeds the foodwatch alert and calls for a strong political response from across the EU to this new food scandal.

As is well known, various days are celebrated by attribute a meaning. Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day, World Youth Day and World Food Day are such prominent days. However, we haven’t had a special day that containing “Halal life” which is vital to us.

The Halal Greece European Certification Center , participated in the 17th Halal World Council (WHC) General Assembly in Jakarta, Indonesia.Halal Greecewas represented by its President, Mr Abdulhalim Dede.

The 1st General Assembly of The Association of Halal Certifiers (AHAC) was held on 01 December 2019 in Elite World Europe Hotel-Istanbul, Turkey.

Halal Greece signs Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with GİMDES the Halal certification association in Turkey. The MOU was signed to increase the level of cooperation between both organizations.

World Halal Summit & 7 OIC Halal Expo 2019 in Turkey were held under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey in collaboration with Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) and the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) at Eurasia Show and Art Center between 28 November and 01 December 2019.

Halal is an Arabic word meaning lawful or permitted. The opposite of Halal is Haram, which means unlawful or prohibited. This term is applicable for the food products, meat products, cosmetics, personal care products, pharmaceuticals, food ingredients and food contact materials.

On October 22-24, 2021, by GIMDES, “No Stop at the Service Against the Coronavirus Scourge. Keep Going!” themed 13th International Halal and Tayyib Products Conference and 8th Halal and Tayyib Products Fair will be held online by GIMDES Fair Organization on 22-24 October 2021.
